Casterton, known as the birthplace of the Kelpie, is home to the purpose-built Australian Kelpie Centre.

The Henty Street facility, situated in the heart of the Kelpie trail, includes a Visitor Information Centre, meeting spaces, amenities and an interpretative display showcasing the history of the Kelpie working dog. The Centre not only welcomes visitors to the region, but also provides the means to build on the strengths and attributes of the local and regional community.
