ACU Catherine of Siena Centre

The Ballarat Campus of the Australian Catholic University is an exemplar of a thriving University Campus located within a significant heritage precinct.

The Catherine of Siena Centre is the Ripon Street presentation of ACU in Ballarat. The project has transformed what was a depleted and incomplete streetscape into one that reflects the important architectural, historical, educational and cultural contribution that the University makes to Ballarat.

The Centre effectively links four existing heritage buildings into a seamless, integrated educational facility, which in turn is linked to the main campus via the vibrant eastern entry.

This project was effectively Stage 1 of the Masterplan developed with ACU for the Ballarat Campus.

As winner of the 2017 Ballarat Heritage Award for Adaptive Reuse of a Heritage Place, the innovative design has created vibrant administration, amenities, meeting and function spaces for the Schools of Education, Arts and Theology + Philosophy.
