ANA Building Redevelopment
Award winning adaptive re-use and restoration of historic ANA Building in Camp Street, Ballarat.
The redevelopment of the former ANA Building, located in the Arts/Education Precinct in Camp Street, embraces the history of the ANA Building, while adding a new dimension to this significant streetscape.
The adaptive re-use of this site combines the history of Ballarat with a vision for the future of Ballarat involving the retention and restoration of the exisiting ANA Building including the re-imagined proscenium arch.
The new central glazed atrium – with its sculptural entry, links old with new and provides direct connection to vistas to the east (further accentuated by the glazed lift rising above the escarpment). While the Infill building reflects a contemporary interpretation/impression of the existing buildings in this historic streetscape.
These elements combined create a respectful, considered, contextual and contribution to the Camp Street Precinct.
